Let the People Vote? Okay!

In case people were worried that there are "activist" judges and governors out there, that isn't really true.

New York Voters backed their Governer 53-40% on his decision to recognize same-sex marriages performed outside the state.

Breakdown of the stats:

Democrats approved the measure 64-30%
Independents: 56-37%
Republicans opposed it: 57-37%

Good news. The gender split was also interesting to note (women heavily favored marriage equality compared to men).

Yeah that is fascinating.

I wish I understood why that is.

Men, in general, seem to be less supportive of and more threatened by gays than women are. I wish I knew why that was, too. Just my observations. Most strongly homophobic groups are run by and largely numbered by men. Peruse discussion boards and blogs regarding anything to do with hatred against gay people, and most of them are run by men. Heck, even Concerned Women [sic] for America is made up of mostly men.

Yeah, I've noticed; it's weird though.

Jane,

Could you please drop me an email? We have noticed that the Office of the National Nurse initiative link has been added to 3 new blogs this week, including yours (thanks!) and we would like to ask if we might send you a post to put up to provide an explanation to your readers?
